Man Arrested In 6 Walnut Creek Burglaries

All the stolen property has been returned to the victims, police said.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Pittsburg man is facing charges in connection with a string of Walnut Creek burglaries.

Walnut Creek police arrested 41-year-old Darrell Lipston on Dec. 14 on suspicion of committing several burglaries in the 100 block of Pringle Avenue.

Officers immediately obtained leads and, with the assistance of the Investigations Bureau, did a probation search of Lipston's residence in Pittsburg. It is alleged that during the search, officers found evidence that Lipston had all the stolen property from the burglaries.

Patrol officers returned the stolen property to the grateful victims, Walnut Creek police said.

Lipston was charged Dec. 18 by the Contra Costa District Attorney's Office with six counts of residential burglary, three counts of grand theft, and four counts of vandalism.

He remained behind bars this week without bail and is expected to make a court appearance Jan . 2.
