Person Robbed At Gunpoint During Pre-Arranged Meetup In Walnut Creek

The victim was selling items and arranged to meet a buyer who turned up with a gun, police said.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A person was robbed at gunpoint in Walnut Creek when they went to meet someone for a pre-arranged sale, police said.

The Walnut Creek Police Department is investigating the armed robbery, which was reported around 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, and happened at the Walden Shopping Center in the 2900 block of North Main Street.

"The victim was selling property and made arrangements to meet the buyer at that location," Walnut Creek police Lt. Holley Connors said. "During the exchange, the buyer brandished a handgun, stole the property, then fled northbound on N. Main Street in a maroon sedan."

Police said no one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s who was around 6 feet tall and wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans.
