WALNUT CREEK, CA — A 35-year-old man who died in a crash near Buchanan Field Airport on Monday night has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner's office as Walnut Creek resident Momchil Mihov.

Mihov died in a crash reported at about 10:15 p.m. Monday on Marsh Drive just south of Sally Ride Drive in unincorporated Pacheco west of the airport, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers learned that a gray 2011 Suzuki SX4 had struck a parked 2014 Freightliner big-rig and the driver, Mihov, died at the scene. The big-rig was unoccupied and no other vehicles were involved in the crash, CHP officials said.
