Walnut Creek Org Fills Furry Friends' Bowls During Benefits Freeze
Walnut Creek Joybound is directing $20,000 to emergency pet food assistance — and matching donations from pet friends dollar for dollar.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — With rising living costs and a freeze on food benefits, families across Contra Costa County are struggling and their pets are feeling the impact, too.
To meet the deepening need, Walnut Creek-based Joybound People & Pets is directing $20,000 of their Giving Tuesday campaign to emergency pet food assistance —and matching donations from pet friends dollar for dollar.
The funds will be used to buy and distribute 20,000 pounds of pet food by the end of 2025.
