Walnut Creek Police Log: Car Burglaries, DUI Arrests, Groceries Stolen
Some of the incidents that kept Walnut Creek police officers busy last week

Some of the items listed on the Walnut Creek Police Department log from Oct. 7 to Oct. 11.
Monday, Oct. 7
DUI arrest: A 45-year-old man was arrested at 4:33 a.m. after police responded to a report of a car blocking a driveway on the 1400 block of Creekside Drive.
Marijuana bust: A man and a woman were cited for possession of marijuana at 12:58 p.m. after officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at the AT&T store on Arroyo Way.
Tuesday, Oct. 8
Drunk in public: A 23-year-old man was arrested at 1:02 a.m. on the 2400 block of Oak Grove Road for public intoxication.
Car burglary: Officers responded at 6:12 a.m. to a report of a car burglary. They found a gray Toyota Tacoma with a window smashed in a parking structure on the 2700 block of North Main Street. A laptop printer, a cooler and a cloth briefcase were stolen.
Another car burglary: The owner of a blue Honda Civic called police at 9:16 a.m. to report the window of his car had been smashed while parked in an underground lot in the 1200 block of Newell Hill Place. A flashlight was stolen.
Yet another car burglary: A woman called police at 12:32 p.m. to report a window on her red Honda had been smashed while parked in a lot on the 1900 block of Olympic Boulevard. An empty purse, a make-up bag and an iPod were taken.
Groceries stolen: A shopper in Palos Verdes Mall reported at 4:01 p.m. that $25 worth of groceries have been stolen from their black Honda by a woman who drove off.
Wednesday, Oct. 9
DUI arrest: A 25-year-old man was arrested at 1:08 a.m. at Mt. Diablo Boulevard and Interstate 680 for driving under the influence.
Window smash arrest: A 19-year-old man was arrested at 5:08 a.m. on the 2600 block of Breton Place for burglary and smashing a car window.
Thursday, Oct. 10
Student threats: Police were called to Northgate High School at 11:53 a.m. for a student who was being detained in the office after threatening to kill a teacher. The juvenile was released to the custody of his father.
Theft from locker: Officers went to a fitness center on the 2800 block of North Main Street after a report of $70 being stolen from a locked locker there.
Friday, Oct. 11
Laptop theft: Police received a call at 11:29 a.m. that a laptop had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 1200 block of Carmel Court.
DUI arrest: A man was arrested for driving under the influence at 11:42 a.m. at California Boulevard and Botelho Drive.
Drunk in public: A 59-year-old man was arrested for public drunkenness at 12:30 p.m. after officers received reports of a man drinking from a vodka bottle on the 1900 block of Tice Valley Boulevard.
Auto burglaries: A car had its window smashed while parked on the 2500 block of Camino Diablo. The owner reported at 12:42 p.m. that some checks and a bag were taken. About 45 minutes, another auto burglary was reported on the same block. A backpack, a laptop computer, textbooks and a calculator were stolen.
Purse stolen: Police were notified at 4:42 p.m. that a purse had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 2700 block of Ridgeview Lane. The victim's credit cards had already been used in Walnut Creek, Pittsburg and Antioch.
