​2nd Suspect Arrested In Double Slaying Investigation

SALINAS, CA — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a double slaying earlier this month, Salinas police said Saturday.

Angel Cabrera, 18, was taken into custody about 6 p.m. Friday with the assistance of Modesto police.
He was suspected of being the driver of a vehicle involved in the Sept. 19 shooting of three people just after 11 p.m. in the 300 block of Cross Avenue, Salinas police said on social media.

Cabrera was accused of homicide, attempted homicide, and gang enhancements, police said.

A second suspect, 18-year-old Marwuy Camacho, was taken into custody about 9 p.m. Wednesday in a parking lot in the 500 block of East Alisal Street, police said.

Camacho was accused of two counts of homicide, one count of attempted homicide, and gang enhancements, police said.

In the Sept. 19 incident, a 20-year-old man died in front of an apartment after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, police said. A 17-year-old male nearby suffered a gunshot to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A second 17-year-old male received a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Natividad Medical Center, where he was expected to recover, police said.
