Double Shooting Suspect Arrested In Watsonville
Members of the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office arrested the man.

WATSONVILLE, CA — Santa Cruz County law enforcers arrested a man suspected of being behind a deadly shooting in Sacramento earlier this month, the California Highway Patrol said.
At approximately 11 a.m. on April 7, CHP officers were alerted to reports of a shooting in a tunnel beneath the Interstate Highway 5 overpass near Miller Regional Park.
A 41-year-old man died while a 50-year-old woman suffered severe injuries but is expected to survive. Both were from Sacramento, the CHP said.

Investigators identified the shooting suspect as John Gavino, 63, of Sacramento.
On Tuesday, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office nabbed Gavino in Watsonville on an arrest warrant issued for suspected murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into Sacramento County Jail.
