Fatal Electric Bike Crash In South County
The cyclist struck a center median and was ejected from his bicycle.
RIO DEL MAR, CA — A Soquel man died Saturday evening after crashing his electric bicycle, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The identity of the man, 57, has not been released.
He was driving his electric bike in Rio del Mar on Sumner Avenue, south of Dolphin Drive, around 6 p.m. when he hit a raised median and was ejected into the road.
