Husband, Wife Arrested In Connection With Two Monterey Co. Robberies

Breaking: Police said a search of the suspect's home revealed evidence from both robberies including a black paintball gun.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — Police have arrested a husband and wife in connection with two robberies that occurred this week in Monterey and Seaside. Kelvinn Williams, 48, and Ramona Gist, 48, both of Seaside were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of two counts of robbery and conspiracy, police said. Williams was also arrested on a parole violation.

On Sunday at 12:35 a.m., Monterey police officers responded to the 300 block of Tyler Street in Monterey on a report of a robbery. Police said two victims had been walking in the area when a man approached them from behind and knocked them to the ground. The suspect took a purse from one of the victims and threatened to
shoot them, police said.

The suspect then fled and drove away in a vehicle with a woman in the front passenger seat. At 4:48 a.m., Seaside police officers were dispatched to the Walgreens at 1055 Fremont Blvd. in Seaside on a report of an armed robbery. Police said the suspect entered the store, approached the teller at a cash register, pulled a black firearm and demanded money. The suspect then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

On Wednesday, police identified Williams as the suspect in both robberies. Police said a search of Williams' home revealed evidence from both robberies including a black paintball gun.
