Man In Stable Condition After Watsonville Shooting Saturday Night

BREAKING: Police said the victim of the shooting was taken to the Watsonville Community Hospital by a good Samaritan.

WATSONVILLE, CA — A man is in stable condition after he was shot Saturday night in Watsonville, police said. According to Watsonville police, at 9:36 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Packard Lane and Shawki Court after they received multiple reports of shots fired.

At the scene, officers located a parked vehicle with its engine running. The vehicle was unoccupied and had multiple gunshot holes, police said. According to police, a dark-colored sedan was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed immediately after the shots were fired.

Officers learned there was a victim of a shooting who was taken to the Watsonville Community Hospital by a good Samaritan. Officers went to the hospital and located a 24-year-old victim in the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his upper back. Officers tried to obtain suspect information from the victim, but he would not cooperate with the investigation, police said.
