Monterey Co. Native Wins 2017 Monterey Bay Half Marathon
Organizers said the man won with a personal best of 1 hour, 3 minutes and 35 seconds.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA — A Monterey County native won the Monterey Bay Half Marathon today, officials with the Big Sur Marathon Foundation, which organizes the event, said. Daniel Tapia took home the $7,000 first prize and is the first Monterey County native to win the race.
Organizers said Tapia won with a personal best of 1 hour, 3 minutes and 35 seconds. Kenyan runner Monicah Ngige won the women's division with a time of 1:12:55.
