Over $70K in Meth Found at Watsonville Home
Police also found a stolen gun and cash in a routine traffic stop.

On Jan. 16 at about 3:17 p.m., members from the Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was driven by Adan Nunez-Torres in the area of Green Valley Rd, and Celia Dr.
During the stop it was determined that Torres was driving without a license. A ubsequent search of his vehicle revealed approximately 2.5 ounces of crystal methamphetamine. Torres was arrested for transportation of a controlled substance.

After Torres’ arrest, the case was turned over to the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team (SCCACT) for further investigation. The SCCACT was able to secure a search warrant for the residence at 35 Alegre Dr., in Watsonville, as they believed this was a location that Torres was using to stash further narcotics.
At 5:15, the SCCACT assisted by agents from Homeland Security Investigations served the search warrant at the residence. Agents located approximately 1.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, cutting agents, packaging materials, a digital scale, a loaded .45 caliber handgun, and a reported stolen 9mm handgun. Agents also located and seized $3,000 in cash.

The street value of all of the methamphetamine that was located is estimated to be over $70,000.
Torres was taken to Santa Cruz County Jail and HSI also placed an immigration hold on Torres.
