Reckless Driving Suspect Arrested Weeks After Watsonville Wreck With CHP Officer

BREAKING: Police said the crash injured the motorcycle officer and another motorist.

WATSONVILLE, CA — A 43-year-old Watsonville man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of reckless driving resulting in an injury to a California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer and another motorist, according to the CHP. Alfonso Saucedo was arrested in the San Jose area Wednesday at 1:45 p.m., according to the CHP.

Saucedo was driving his 2000 Mercedes E-Class south on state Highway 1 on Sept. 6 when he collided with the CHP motorcycle officer and another motorist in a Jeep just after 3:35 p.m. The officer and the other driver were injured, but information about their injuries was not immediately available. The exact location of the
collision also wasn't immediately available.

Saucedo is expected to be booked into the Santa Clara County Jail, CHP officials said.
