She is a 2nd grade teacher

Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?

Rebecca Royston should be nominated because she goes up and beyond to support her students and their parents. She spends long hours before and after school, ensuring the children get a full educational experience. For example, she is always learning new techniques and teaching methods that will enrich her students' learning experiences. Even when she has days off, she still spends her free time ensuring that everything is ready for the following week. She is answering texts from parents who have questions and answering emails from her colleagues. Besides her students, she always looks out for her colleagues; she supports them when they are overwhelmed and advocates for them. What makes Rebecca Royston special is that she puts others before herself. When you think of your favorite teacher when you were a kid, Rebecca is THAT teacher she makes education fun and memorable and wishing you were back in her classroom.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?

She outs other before herself

Thank you for all you do, Rebecca Royston!
