Did You Feel It? Two Earthquakes Shake Watsonville

Temblors of 2.5 and 3.7 magnitudes struck the Garlic City after 1:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013.

Earthquakes of 2.5 and 3.7 magnitudes have struck the Watsonville area Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblors occurred at about 1:35 a.m. and 2:05 a.m. respectively.   

The smaller quake struck about 4 miles south-southeast of Gilroy and had a depth of 5.3 miles; the larger of the two - which was downgraded from a 3.9-magnitude initial reading - was about 12 miles east of Watsonville and 4.2 miles deep.
