Vallarta Supermarkets To Open New Watsonville Store Next Week
The supermarket chain specializing in Latin American cuisine will open its first Santa Cruz County outpost this month.
WATSONVILLE, CA — Vallarta Supermarkets will celebrate the grand opening of its newest store next week in Watsonville, and the first 300 customers will get a reusable bag filled with groceries.
The SoCal-born chain specializes in all things Latin American, growing from a small Van Nuys market to more than 50 locations in the Golden State over the last 35 years. The Watsonville outpost will be Vallarta's first in Santa Cruz County.
The newest store offers shoppers all of Vallarta's specialized departments, complete with carnes frescas, fresh produce, a tortilleria, pescaderia, cremeria, panderia and la isla.

"We are extremely excited to expand into Santa Cruz County with Watsonville," said Cesar Gonzalez, Vallarta's chief operating officer. "We are looking forward to serving the community and providing new jobs in the area. As with all our Vallarta Supermarkets locations, we are dedicated to pricing quality products and delivering exceptional customer service while fostering community growth and well-being."
The store is slated to open to the public on June 12 at 1702 Freedom Boulevard.
