Watsonville Police Raise $14K For Local Breast Cancer Patients
Proceeds will serve families who can't afford breast cancer treatment and services, the police department said.
WATSONVILLE, CA — The Watsonville Police Department raised nearly $13,700 for local breast cancer patients in need.
The money was raised as part of its 2020 Pink Patch Project campaign, during which the department sold T-shirts, caps and patches emblazoned with a pink version of its logo. Local business Chaz Design even donated the time and materials to wrap a police cruiser in a pink pattern featuring pink stars and stripes, and a pink breast cancer ribbon.
Proceeds will benefit patients at the Bennett & Suzy Katz Cancer Resource Center at Dominican Hospital who can't afford the cost of breast cancer treatment and services, the police department said.
