Police Arrest Comedian Katt Williams

The Woodland Hills resident was a no-show to a court hearing in Sacramento.

Police arrested comedian Katt Williams at his Woodland Hills home Tuesday afternoon for failure to appear in court.

The 41-year-old comedian was scheduled to appear in a Sacramento court on Monday for charges of evading California Highway Patrol officers in a chase through downtown Sacramento in November, according to a report by KXTV, a Sacramento-area based CBS affiliate.

Katt told the celebrity website TMZ he missed the Sacramento court date because he had a conflicting court hearing involving custody of his children.

LAPD officers took him into custody outside his Quinta Road home at around 3:45 p.m., the Los Angeles Times reported.

The Times went on to note Williams, whose given name is Micah Sierra Williams, has been arrested six other times in the last 26 months.

He was arrested just before the end of the year on suspiscion of child endangerment and possession of a stolen firearm after police allegedly found multiple weapons at his home, according to a Los Angeles Times article published at the time.

KXTV reported a Yolo County judge issued a $10,000 bench warrant Wednesday morning when the comedian didn't show up to court there regarding charges of misdemeanor battery on a Target store employee, which allegedly took place on the same day he fled from the CHP in Sacramento.
