Colorado Woman, 20, Dies While Bungee Jumping

Ciara Romero died Jan. 4 in Grand Junction. Friends described her as the "most loving, kind-hearted human being."

GRAND JUNCTION, CO -- A Colorado woman died earlier this month while she bungee jumped at an indoor recreation center in Grand Junction. Ciara Romero, who friends described as the "most loving, kind-hearted human being," was killed Jan. 4.

Romero, who was reportedly a nurse, was killed "while participating in a 70-foot bungee-jump feature at Get Air," reported The Daily Sentinel.

But, investigators are unclear what went wrong as the device was tested to be normal, the newspaper reported.

"A spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, who worked with Head Rush to test the device in the wake of the fatal fall, confirmed the test's results and said the agency will now focus on other factors in the case," The Daily Sentinel reported.

Loved ones of Romero created a GoFundMe page to help her family pay for expenses related to her death.
