On October 11, Elbert County Partnership hosted their inaugural Spoil A Senior Day – an occasion filled with laughter, fun activities, and various ways to show seniors how much their appreciated in their own community! Not only did seniors enjoy the festivities, but the event also included a special recognition for one dedicated community member. Marjorie Engle proudly presented Bill Mock with a top performance award for his unwavering dedication to serving local seniors.

Since 2018, Mock has been a proud volunteer and food advocate. He plays an instrumental role in transporting Senior Lunches between Elbert, Kiowa, and Elizabeth to ensure that seniors are well-fed, taken care of, and most importantly, not forgotten. Mock also delivers gift bags and Senior Christmas Baskets to spread joy throughout the holiday season and across the county. In addition to his hands-on service, Bill’s strong leadership shines through his voice when he attends town and county meetings to speak up for senior needs, as well as ongoing support for the Senior Center Project in Elizabeth. His compassion and commitment has left a long lasting impact on seniors, residents of Elbert County and beyond. Congrats, Bill!

The Spoil A Senior Day event was made possible by several community partners, including American Legion, Dads of Elbert County, Elbert County Fairgrounds, Colorado Greenhouse Builders, Elbert County Coalition Outreach, Craft Companies, Kiowa Fire Protection District and more to support seniors in a meaningful way.
