Investigators Using GPS Bait Package To Help Catch Mail Thieves In Montrose

MONTROSE, Colo. (CBS4)– More mail and packages are being stolen in Montrose. The Montrose County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents to be cautious.

Investigators say there are things people can do to prevent theft like turning on delivery alerts, not leaving mail or packages in plain sight, and reporting any stolen items to a postal inspector.

In addition, the sheriff’s office is using a GPS bait package to help catch thieves.
