Oil & Gas Fire Evacuations For 1 Mile Radius In Weld Co.
No injuries reported after fleet of diesel trucks ignites on Noble Energy facility lot.
WELD COUNTY, CO – People and businesses were evacuated for a mile radius in Weld County after an enormous blaze consumed parts of an oil and gas plant 18 miles southeast of Greeley.
The diesel gas fire began around 1:45 p.m. near Platteville, at the Noble Energy oil and gas facility on Weld Co. Rd 30.
A fleet of diesel trucks parked closely together ignited and were sprayed with flame retardant by firefighters.

By 3 p.m., all employees had been accounted for, Platteville-Gilcrest Fire Protection District spokesperson Jolene Schneider told Denver7.
Schneider told Denver7 that emergency phone alerts were sent telling people to evacuate.

More than 3,000 gallons of diesel fuel was burning with "the potential for 15,000 gallons to burn."
