• ‘Legally Blonde' staged by Air Force Academy cadets? Elle, yes! (gazette.com) — Air Force Academy cadets’ Bluebards theater troupe recently packed Arnold Hall with their production of “Legally Blonde,” showcasing the creative side of future officers and the Academy’s long-running arts tradition. Director and alumna Michelle Ruehl, now also a Colorado Springs school board member, highlights how theater on base builds empathy, supports cadet mental health, and will continue with Shakespeare in January and “Fiddler on the Roof” in May.
   

• Sports generate up to $280 million in local economic activity for Colorado Springs, study finds (cpr.org) — Residents connected to the Air Force Academy’s athletics program are part of a sports economy that now generates up to $280 million a year for the Pikes Peak Region, according to a new study. The report credits Team USA institutions, local colleges including the Academy, and pro sports as major drivers, and urges Colorado Springs to invest more in sports as a core industry for jobs and growth.
   

• Fischbach nominates local students to service academies (am1100theflag.com) — A Minnesota congresswoman has nominated a local high school senior to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, highlighting the continued national draw of the Academy just down the road from you. If accepted, the nominee would join future officers training here and commit to at least five years of active-duty service after graduation.
