Arvada Appoints New Human Resources Director

ARVADA, CO — The City of Arvada announced Monday that it appointed a new director of human resources.

The new director, Gabriella Bommer, previously worked as the city's deputy human resources director and is replacing Linda Haley who was appointed as the second deputy city manager, according to a news release.

"With her breadth of human resources knowledge and profound dedication to the City team and community, Gabriella has every quality needed for this vital role," said Mark Deven, city manager. "We look forward to her visionary leadership as we continue to build and maintain an exceptional team to meet the opportunities and challenges to come."

Bommer, who holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and has several professional human resources certifications, has 28 years of human resources experience, according to the news release. She began working for the City of Arvada in 2009 and was promoted to deputy director in 2017. She also served as the acting director from March 2020 to Sept. 2021.

"Being the director of human resources for the City of Arvada is a ‘dream big’ opportunity for me," Bommer said. "Arvada is a truly special place, and I am honored and excited to serve the community and our City team in this new role, helping to make the City a great place to work for the next generation."
