• For Colorado seniors, aging at home is getting harder. One organization is changing that (kunc.org) — An Arvada woman’s struggle to repair her flooded home highlights how hard it’s becoming for Colorado seniors to safely age in place. Local volunteers from Bright Leaf stepped in with donated flooring, while statewide experts warn that fast-growing senior populations and limited funding are straining home-based support services across Colorado. 
• Boulder Police Officer Arrested for Domestic Violence Harassment; Weld County Officer Decertified (longmontleader.com) — An officer from the Boulder Police Department was arrested in Arvada on a misdemeanor domestic violence harassment charge and is now on paid administrative leave while the case proceeds. He was booked into the Jefferson County detention facility Tuesday afternoon. In a separate case, a former Weld County officer has been permanently decertified from policing in Colorado after prior felony charges.
• Heavy wind batters Colorado: Everything you need to know about power outages, road closures, DIA delays (denverpost.com) — Hurricane-force winds across the Front Range included a 93 mph gust at an Arvada weather station along Colorado 93, contributing to major power outages and disruptions. The storm knocked out electricity to tens of thousands, affected RTD trains, closed some schools, and caused road closures and likely flight delays at Denver International Airport.
