Arvada Vaccination Update For People Ages 65 And Older

City officials are encouraging eligible Arvadans to register for their COVID-19 vaccine.

ARVADA, CO — Many Jefferson and Adams county residents ages 70 and older are still waiting to receive the first dose of their COVID-19 vaccine, but people ages 65 and older are still encouraged to register for an appointment, Arvada city officials said Tuesday.

The supply of vaccine doses remains limited, but the city is asking residents to visit the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's webpage to find out where they can get vaccinated or call the agency's hotline at 1-877-268-2926 to speak with operators who are able to answer questions and connect people with resources.

"Public health agencies have indicated that it will take some time for everyone to be vaccinated, and the City urges residents to continue wearing masks and following other health guidelines throughout the process," Arvada officials said in a news release.

As of Monday, 991,075 vaccine doses have been distributed to Colorado, and 751,960 have been administered, so just under 76 percent of the deliveries to our state have gone into arms, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Beginning Thursday, the White House will deliver 1 million doses of vaccine per week to 6,500 retailers such as CVS and Walgreens, according to multiple reports.
