Carjacking Suspect Injured Following Shootout With Police
A man was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition following a confrontation with police late Wednesday night.
ARVADA, CO — A man was injured in a shootout with police following a car chase late Wednesday night, police said in a Twitter thread.
Officers were called to West 64th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in response to reports of a woman being threatened by a man at gunpoint, Denver7 reported.
The woman told police that a man approached her SUV and fired a shot into her window, according to Denver7. The woman was unharmed.

"As the officers were leaving that case, they heard this gunshot saw the woman limping away from the black SUV and then pursued the vehicle and contacted the woman at the same time," Det. Dave Snelling, an Arvada police information officer, told Denver7.
The man driving the stolen vehicle fired on officers in pursuit before they were able to end the chase, officials said. No officers were injured in the encounter.

"Shots were fired from the vehicle towards police officers at some point in that contact," Snelling told Denver7. "When everything stopped, officers fired shots at the suspect. The suspect was struck."
The condition of the man is currently unknown, according to police.
The incident is under investigation, officials said.
