The City of Arvada Housing Team is conducting a Cold Weather Collection Drive to help provide much-needed items to those experiencing homelessness. During the holiday season, many residents look for ways to give back to their community and contributing to the City’s Cold Weather Collection Drive is one way to make a difference in the Arvada community.
“Winter is an especially difficult time for those who do not have shelter or even winter clothing,” said Housing and Homelessness Programs Manager Carrie Espinosa. “We are reaching out to our community members and asking them to consider those in need and help make their world a little warmer this holiday season.”

Homelessness is on the rise in Arvada and throughout Colorado. Recent data shows that families experiencing homelessness are increasing in number faster than any other group. In our community, homelessness is increasingly affecting families with children, the under-employed, veterans and individuals with mental health or substance-abuse issues. The City of Arvada is collaborating with various organizations and agencies in a variety of ways to help address this growing concern. More information about the City’s approach to homelessness can be found at https://arvada.org/homelessness-in-arvada.
