What's Happening With Clear Creek? Open House On Corridor Planned

An open house will be held to discuss the master plan for the Clear Creek Corridor project.

ARVADA, CO – The Clear Creek corridor, between Tennyson Street and Wadsworth Boulevard, has a long history of gravel mining, industry and landfills. Now the City of Arvada, unincorporated Adams County and the cities of Denver and Wheat Ridge are working together to clean up the area and create parks, vegetation and recreation opportunities.

A public Open House about the Clear Creek Corridor Master Plan will be held from 5:30 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Foster Elementary School, 5399 Saulsbury Court in Arvada.

Areas along the creek are publicly owned. These include parks, trails, trailhead parking areas, drainage, and flood management areas. The Corridor Plan will take a look at the creek itself, as well as existing public land and adjacent trails for:

  • Potential recreational uses
  • Public safety
  • Better trail connectivity (Olde Town Arvada, Marshall Street, 52nd and 56th avenues in particular)
  • Animal habitat improvements
  • Way-finding signage
  • Water quality, storm water and floodplain improvements

The three "opportunity sites" are at the following locations:

  • Site 1: 52nd and Marshall Urban Trail Network
  • Site 2: Gold Strike Park
  • Site 3: Clear Creek North Bank Public Open Space
