How Well Is Colorado Battling Coronavirus? State Comparison

New data reports from the White House are giving Coloradans a fresh look at how our state is handling the coronavirus pandemic.

The report's latest set of data shows how Colorado stacks up against the rest of the nation.

As of Feb. 14, Colorado's case rate per 100,000 people was 151, and the U.S. at large was 204. South Carolina, New York and Oklahoma are reporting the highest rates of new COVID-19 cases in the country, and Colorado is ranked No. 29:

The White House has also released a map that shows what percent of the population in each state has received one or more vaccine doses:

As of Feb. 14, our state's positivity rate, which tracks the percentage of all tests performed that are positive, is 4.1 percent — lower than the U.S. at large, which is 6.6 percent.

Here are some other important facts from the report:

• Colorado's testing rate per 100,000 people was 3,188, compared to the U.S. rate of 2,612.
• The rate of COVID-19 deaths per 100,000 people in Colorado was 1.5 — the U.S. death rate is 6.5.
• No Colorado hospitals were reporting supply shortages, but 7 percent of U.S. hospitals were reporting shortages.
• Around 6 percent of Colorado hospitals were reporting staff shortages, but 15 percent of U.S. hospitals were reporting staff shortages.
