Jefferson County Sheriff's Office: Suspect Arrested For Robbery, Felony Menacing And Possession Of Drugs

February 5, 2022

Jefferson County, CO. – Just after 10 p.m. on February 4, 2022, deputies responded to a robbery in progress outside the Mirage Sports Bar located at 8340 W. Coal Mine Ave. The two victims of the robbery reported that they were walking to their car when a white male with tattoos approached them, told them he had a gun and demanded their keys. One of the victims called 911 to report the robbery while it was happening. During the course of the conversation with dispatch, the suspect produced a handgun and fired a shot. The call taker from Jeffcom heard the gunshot over the open line. The victims gave the suspect the keys to their Lexus and the suspect fled the area in their car. Deputies saturated the area and began to look for the Lexus. A short time later the stolen Lexus was spotted in the area of Coal Mine and Garrison. A high risk traffic stop was conducted and the suspect was taken into custody. Both victims positively identified the suspect as the person who robbed them.

 The suspect was identified as Zakkery Madden (DOB 041393). A search of the area was completed after the handgun could not be located inside of the stolen vehicle. The suspect indicated that he tossed the unloaded gun from the vehicle. The weapon was not recovered.
