Man Killed After Breaking Into Home In Jefferson County: Sheriff

A man was stabbed during a break-in, the sheriff's office said.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — A man was killed after he broke into a home early Monday morning in unincorporated Jefferson County, officials said.

Deputies were called around 4 a.m. to the 10400 block of Ammons Street, just north of Westminster, after they received a report of the break-in.

The deputies found a man dead inside the home, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said. The man had forced his way into the home and was stabbed by a woman during a physical altercation, according to a witness who also lived in the home, the sheriff's office said.

The women who lived at the home knew the man, the sheriff's office said.

The women were being interviewed by detectives and an investigation was underway.
