GOLDEN, CO – JeffCo Public Schools issued a (rare for the district) snow day announcement late Tuesday saying schools would be closed on Wednesday, March 13 for extreme weather conditions.

All classes will be cancelled, as well as all after-school activities, the district said.

Beginning around 11 a.m. Wednesday, the metro Denver area is expected to experience blizzard and white-out conditions, lasting until Thursday morning and dumping between three to seven inches of snow, the National Weather Service said.

"Heavy snow and gusty winds are predicted, with significant travel impacts," NWS said.

Denver International Airport reported that many flights will be cancelled for tomorrow as well.
