Stolen Ferrari Driver Killed In High-Speed Wreck In Arvada

A 39-year-old man was killed and a woman injured when a stolen Ferrari smashed into an Arvada fence early Feb. 27.

ARVADA, CO – A male driver was killed and a female passenger injured in an early-morning single-vehicle wreck in Arvada Wednesday, police said.

Around 3 a.m., Arvada police responded to reports of a speeding car near Ward Road and 64th Avenue, police said. In the 6700 block of Ward Road, officers saw the gray 2007 sports car speeding southbound. In the 6900 block of Ward, the Ferrari "left the east side of the road, running into a fence and several trees," a police press release said.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the deceased male driver as Steven Andrews, age 39. The female passenger was taken to a hospital with "non-life threatening injuries," police said.

Investigators said the Ferrari was reported stolen from a local dealership.
