Purple Ribbons Honor Shanann Watts And Her Girls In Frederick

FREDERICK, CO – Purple ribbons are popping up in the town of Frederick to honor slain pregnant mother Shanann Watts, 34, and her two girls Celeste, 3, and Bella, 4.

The town hung ribbons along light poles on 5th Street downtown and in the Wyndham Hill neighborhood, where Shanann and her family lived.

Her husband, Christopher Watts, 33, is accused of killing his wife, their daughters and his unborn baby son and dumping their bodies on an oil and gas property in Weld County. He is being held in Weld County jail on no bond, and may face the death penalty.

Purple ribbons are available for residents at Town Hall, 401 Locust St., during open hours Monday through Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m., the town said.

A funeral service for Shanann and her children will be live streamed in Pinehurst, North Carolina, Saturday, where her remains were taken to be with family members.

Shannon's parents, Frank and Sandra Rzucek have expressed their gratitude to the Frederick police department, naming the PD's Missing Person's Division as a charity to donate funds to in Shannon's memory in her obituary.

Neighbors and friends from Frederick and neighboring towns gathered earlier in the month in a candlelight vigil in front of the Watts's home on Saratoga Trail.

Christopher Watts is next scheduled to appear in court in November.
