Broomfield Teen Shooter Gets 7 Years In Juvenile Offender Program

Luis Gustavo Sanchez pleaded guilty to shooting another teen in the back in March over a drug deal, the Adams County DA said.

BROOMFIELD, CO – An 18-year old man was sentenced to serve time in a juvenile offender program for attempted murder in a March shooting in Broomfield that left a 17-year-old paralyzed.

Broomfield District Court Judge Michael Goodbee sentenced Luis Gustavo Sanchez to seven years in the Youthful Offender System.

As part of a plea deal, Goodbee also suspended a 28-year sentence to the Department of Corrections. Sanchez must serve that prison sentence if he fails to comply with program requirements of his Youth Offender System sentence, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
