Broomfield crews are preparing for an Arctic cold front forecasted to bring very cold temperatures and prolonged snow to Broomfield. What you can do to prepare:

- Limit driving if you can, or pack an emergency car kit if you can’t . Car Kit should include the following:
- Coats, hats and gloves
- Blanket
- Windshield ice scraper and snow brush
- Flashlight and small tool kit
- Shovel and road salt/sand
- Basic First aid kit
- Tow Chain or rope
- Cell phone charger
- Avoid parking on the street (especially in cul de sacs) to make way for plows
- Prepare for potential power outages at home with extra blankets, batteries, etc.
- Prepare your home for winter conditions by keeping your heat on to a minimum of 55 degrees, and dripping faucets if temperatures drop below 10 degrees. (See more information on preventing frozen pipes.)
- Contact your friends and neighbors that might need assistance preparing for or responding to high snowfall and make a response plan.
