Westminster Walmart Homicide: Man Taken Into Custody
Westminster police announced Friday they had arrested Jared Manzanares, 38, in connection with the shooting death of a person Oct. 26.

WESTMINSTER, CO – A man was arrested in connection with the Oct. 26 fatal shooting in a Walmart parking lot, Westminster police said Friday.
Jared Gabriel Manzanares, 38, was arrested and faces charges of first-degree murder and charges for an unrelated felony warrant, police said.
On Oct. 26, 2018 around 2:22 a.m., Westminster police responding to an unrelated call, found a man with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of Walmart at 200 West 136th Avenue, police said.

As police investigated, they found video evidence that a late-model black Dodge Durango and another vehicle had parked next to each other in the parking lot for approximately 20 minutes.
"An occupant of the Durango shot the driver of the other vehicle. The suspect then left the scene," police said. Police identified the shooter as Manzanares Friday.

Police did not specify whether Manzanares knew the victim, who was reported by the Denver Post to be a man in his 50s.
The victim has still not been identified by the Adams County Coroner. Manzanares is in custody in the Adams County Jail.
