• Colorado Springs firefighters respond to structure fire on east side of I-25 (kktv.com) — Firefighters in Colorado Springs knocked down a large storage-area fire near the 3100 block of Century Street on the east side of I-25 Saturday afternoon, after dozens of 911 calls reported heavy black smoke. Crews faced access issues due to fencing, called a second alarm, and brought in hazmat teams to monitor air and waterways, but no injuries or building damage were reported.
   

• Colorado Springs Police searching for bank robber (krdo.com) — Police are investigating a bank robbery on the 1800 block of South Nevada Avenue in Colorado Springs after a man demanded money from a teller and fled. Detectives haven’t said whether he was armed or how much was taken, and no arrests have been made as the robbery unit continues its active search.
   

• ‘Lots of transmission is out there': Flu hospitalizations spike rapidly in Colorado (kktv.com) — Flu hospitalizations are surging across Colorado, and health officials speaking from Colorado Springs say rates are already four times higher than this time last year. Local residents describe getting both flu and COVID shots, while experts urge Springs-area people to stay home when sick, cover coughs, and stay current on respiratory vaccines as a new H3N2 strain circulates.
