Missing Aurora Girl, 10, Found Safe, Police Say

A 10-year-old girl missing since Monday morning was found safe, police said.

AURORA, CO – A 10-year-old girl missing in Aurora since Monday morning was found safe Tuesday, police said.

Crystal McCoy, spokesperson for Aurora Police, said Daniela Ruano-Morales was safe and was "receiving treatment."

Aurora police said officers were notified around 12:10 p.m. that Daniela had been found in the Hoffman Heights Neighborhood near East 6th Avenue and North Peoria Street. Daniela was found in the area by a distant relative, a press release said.

This is still an active and open investigation and officers are still trying to determine how Daniela got to the Hoffman Heights area, police said.

Daniela disappeared Monday after police said she had a disagreement with her parents and left the home in the 1900 block of Elmira Street. The family searched for her for several hours, then called Aurora police around 4 p.m., a police spokeswoman said. She had been home from school that day.
