📰 News we're reading

• Remote control planes making big splash with no sound (kdvr.com) — A longtime model-glider club that started in Denver is still going strong, with members now flying nearly silent, motor-assisted gliders over Brighton fields. Pilots launch the 13-foot wingspan planes, then ride thermals in near-total quiet, often competing to keep them aloft for exactly ten minutes. It’s a niche but growing way locals are finding calm, focus, and friendly competition in the sky.

• A Lifeline for Colorado Pets (dailycamera.com) — Colorado Pet Pantry is expanding its support for struggling pet owners, including a Denver-metro warehouse that supplies 103 partner organizations and a local spay-and-neuter collaboration with SpayToday. The statewide nonprofit now runs more than 100 monthly pet food pantries, helping tens of thousands of Colorado families keep their dogs and cats at home during financial hardship.
