2nd Denver Marijuana Cafe License Awarded To Gaming Lounge

Vape and Play will open in a refurbished auto parts store on Broadway next door to a dispensary.

DENVER, CO – The city of Denver has awarded a 2nd pot consumption license – this time to a "gaming lounge" that will feature coloring books and televisions as well as arcade, video and board games.

Vape and Play, will be constructed in a former auto parts store at 1753 S. Broadway. The lounge plans to open in the fall next to the Back to the Garden dispensary.

Consumers will be invited to BYOC (bring your own cannabis) to special events such as bachelor/bachelorette parties, seminars, musical performances or yoga classes. The business plans to hold events with catered food from local restaurants.

“Every ticket purchased also includes unlimited access to consume your (BYOC) favorite cannabis flower or concentrates at our in-house vape bar, with the help of our highly trained vapetenders who will insure every hit is perfect for you.”

Owners tried to raise $100,000 through an unsuccessful crowdfunding campaign, but now have secured enough to create their vision of a "U-shaped vaporizer bar for electronic dabbing and flower vaporization, with vending machines selling drinks and munchies," according to Westword.

In a trip video, co-owner Taylor Rosean says the company will be breaking new ground. "This will be the first modern, legal cannabis entertainment space in America. In some respects, the whole world," he said.

Meanwhile, the business owners have been reaching out to the neighbors.

“We have worked extensively on community outreach over the past year. Seventeen Registered Neighborhood Organizations have given their input on our business plan. Our business model is now centered on customer and neighborhood safety” said Megan Lumpkins, co-owner and community relations director.
