- As Denver continues to sweep homeless camps, it is pushing the problem into suburban communities and beyond. Homelessness is spreading across metro area and into foothills. In Jefferson County, the number of unhoused neighbors has been steadily increasing, but there are no year-round shelters available, leading to makeshift shelters or migration to Denver overnight shelters, then returning to Jefferson County during the day. (CBS4)
- Will Denver extend emergency declaration due to an influx of migrants? Denver City Council has extended an emergency declaration for sheltering migrants from the southern border, citing the need for additional funds and resources. Over 11,200 migrants arrived in the past seven months without shelter plans. (FOX31)
- EMT saves mother and newborn during commute to paramedic school. Bayli Jenski, an Alaskan native and experienced EMT, responded to a cry for help while riding her bicycle to class last week, only to find out that the woman was giving birth. Both mother and baby are in good health. (KDVR)
- Hundreds of thousands of Coloradoans are set to lose their health care coverage. The state estimates 300,000 will become ineligible for coverage as pandemic health coverage expires. Many will be forced to go without life preserving medications and care that were previous provided by federal aid provided by pandemic-era resources. (9News)
- Gray market already active in Colorado in advance of the 2025 legal mushroom law. Colorado's voters approved Proposition 122, establishing the Natural Medicine Health Act, but the issuance of licenses for the psychedelic industry is more than a year away. Despite this, gray market practitioners are already offering mushroom micro dosing classes and supplies. Online searches reveal multiple websites already providing guiding services in Denver. (CPR)
