- Is living on "Standby" the new way to live? A subscription-based rental start up is offering furnished apartments in Denver and throughout the United States. The program offers a new residential option called "Standby" living. These apartments come with no lease, no security deposit, and all utilities included at a rate below the median rent, which seems great. However, the catch is that tenants may have to vacate with only three days' notice. (Axios)
- Denver's immigrant program receives more funding. The Denver City Council recently an additional $250,000 to the fund legal representation to Denver residents who were either facing deportation proceedings or at risk of being subjected to such actions. (PBS)
- Englewood's Twin Dragon is closing its doors forever. After 47 years of owning and operating one of Englewood's most cherished Chinese restaurants, Shiou Jefferson will turn the lock on the restaurant one final time on April 30. (Englewood Herald)
- Colorado part of 17 states demanding recall of Hyundai and KIA cars. Seventeen states' attorneys general, including Colorado's, are calling on the federal government to recall millions of Kia and Hyundai vehicles that are susceptible to theft. Certain Kia and Hyundai cars sold in the U.S. during the past ten years lack engine immobilizers, which is a common feature in most cars that prevents the engine from starting without the key being present. - The University of Colorado settled a class action lawsuit for $5 million. The class action suit is for students that were denied access to university services during the pandemic. All students that were enrolled at the CU Boulder, Colorado Springs, Denver, and Anschutz campuses during the spring 2020 semester are covered by the settlement. (9News)
