Baggy Pants Bandit Caught On Video Losing His Trousers

The man is seen on video dropping his gun, then running out the door as his droopy pants slip to his knees.

AURORA, CO – Video footage of a would-be robber botching a hold-up by first dropping his gun, then losing his pants in a Colorado e-cigarette store has gone viral.

Aurora police are looking for the fumbling wannabe robber who fled empty handed Sept. 2. According to police, the man entered E-Cig of Denver on Havana Street in Aurora around 5:30 p.m.

The video shows the man in a red baseball hat and sunglasses entering the almost empty shop, where a female clerk stands behind the register.

The man pulls what appears to be a long-barreled handgun from his pocket, and leans forward on the counter. But he loses his grip on the gun and it slides from his fingers and falls over the counter onto the floor next to the store clerk.

Initially she reacts and backs away, and the man tries to jump over the counter to collect his firearm. But he loses his nerve in mid jump, and appears to change his mind as he crashes into the counter.

Meanwhile the female clerk picks up the gun.

The unknown robber turns and runs toward the glass doors of the shop, which he kicks open with a flourishing jump.

At that moment, his trousers slide down to his mid thighs, then down to his knees as he flees while trying to pull them up.

The video caused some mirth, even for the owner of the shop.

“I don’t want to downplay the seriousness of an armed robbery, but the guy really does belong in the 'world’s dumbest criminals,'” Chris Burgess, owner of E-Cig of Denver told the Denver Post. “He needs to find a new career.”

The video has been shared on social media thousands of times, including internationally.
