Colorado Coronavirus Update: 1,047 New Cases Reported

Colorado has seen a decline in coronavirus case numbers since mid-January, and the daily case numbers have remained steady over the past several weeks, public health officials said.

Between Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, 1,047 new cases of the coronavirus were reported in Colorado.

As of Friday, 457,597 cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the state among more than 2,707,000 people who have been tested since the outbreak began, health officials confirmed. Around 25,336 people have been hospitalized.

Colorado's COVID-19 death toll:

• Deaths among cases: 6,089
• Deaths due to COVID-19: 6,196

Around 30 percent of the state's critical care ventilators were in use as of Friday, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Around 8 percent of Colorado hospitals reported anticipating staff shortages over the next week, and 2 percent of facilities reported anticipating ICU bed shortages.

Coloradans ages 50 and older, as well as people ages 16 to 49 with one high-risk health condition, are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
