  1. Denver’s Office of the Medical Examiner identified one of 17 people who died between 1970 and 2021. Arnis Ironnecklace was identified as the 41-year-old man who was found dead on the 4700 block of Pecos Street on Jun. 16, 2021. A spokesperson for the medical examiner’s office said the cause of death was a mix of fentanyl and ethanol. (Westword)
  2. A shooting on Thursday evening at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Federal Boulevard has left one person dead and another injured. No arrests have been made as of Friday evening. (CBS Denver)
  3. Murals celebrating the 10th Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program were vandalized on Jun. 15 at two branches of the Denver Public Library. A QR code on the mural was ripped off and later half of the mural was as well. The artist replaced the mural. (Westword)
  4. Individual Colorado taxpayers can receive $750 refund checks by late summer, and joint filers could see $1,500 checks. The checks are a result of a new tax refund policy that was announced back in April. (Patch)
