Denver Boy, 7, Is Periodic Table Whiz On Ellen DeGeneres Show
Second-grader Finnegan Hathaway blew Ellen away with his knowledge of the elements. He can recite the whole table in two minutes.
DENVER, CO – Denver second-grader Finnegan Hathaway wowed talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres Friday with his mastery of the Periodic Table as well as the properties of each element. He can recite the periodic table, in order, in less than two minutes, his school says.
Ellen gave Finn a quiz holding up signs with symbols for several elements, which he instantly aced Friday.
He also showed Ellen his collection of rock specimens, some from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

Ellen wanted to give him a gift for his collection: A piece of platinum.
"We didn't know how expensive it was, so it is tiny," she acknowledged. "But you can sell that one day and.. and be OK."

Asbury Elementary School posted a congratulatory message on Facebook "We are so proud of Finn and want to acknowledge his accomplishments," they said.
