Denver Cop Arrested For Assault: Police
Sergeant Joseph Rodarte was investigated by internal affairs for a "use of force incident" in August, police said.

DENVER, CO – Denver police arrested an officer Thursday for a second-degree assault charge in connection with an August incident, the Denver Police Department said.
Sergeant Joseph Rodarte is being investigated for a "use of force incident" that took place Aug. 22, 2018, a press release said.
The arrest came after a use-of-force review according to protocol followed by the Denver Police Internal Affairs Bureau. The Denver District Attorney’s Office was consulted and recommended a criminal arrest, the department said.

Rodarte is currently suspended without pay pending the outcome of the criminal case, the department said.
Police said they would not be releasing body-worn camera footage of the incident yet because charges are pending. They also said a booking photo and arrest affidavit were not yet available.
