DENVER, CO — A Denver man was charged with first-degree murder in connection with his wife's death, the Denver District Attorney's office announced Friday.

Jonathan Nuno-Mijangos, 23, is accused of killing 24-year-old Jasmin Cigarroa.

A neighbor told police they heard a loud noise March 9 that sounded like someone had been thrown to the floor. The neighbor then saw Nuno-Mijangos drive his wife's car out of their garage and drive his own car into the garage, according to the affidavit. Officers were called to the home, but nobody answered, police said.

Nuno-Mijangos told officers that after he came home from work March 9, he didn't leave the home; however, his cell phone was tracked around midnight to an area that's near the spot where Cigarroa's body was found March 12 in a rural part of Adams County, according to the affidavit.
